Lisa Dixon – SRA Accounts Rules, Notary Public Bookkeeping, Cash-flow, Credit Control, PayrollAbout Lisa Dixon:

Bookkeeping and Management Accountancy

I have worked in accounting for over 30 years having qualified as an Accounting Technician in 1989 and as a Certified Accountant in 1998. I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a wide and varied accounting career starting with six years at local accountancy firm Kendall Wadley, earning my accountancy stripes working on producing accounts from incomplete records, small company audits and tax computations, manual payroll and company secretarial duties. In the following decade, I worked in various management accounting roles in both the manufacturing and service industries, taking lead financial roles managing cash-flow and profitability as well as providing management accounts and other KPI and strategic information for decision making purposes at director level.

Legal Finance Specialist

My legal finance career began in 2004 with Harrison Clark Solicitors who were at that time a relatively small firm based in Worcester and Birmingham. That firm is now Harrison Clark Rickerbys Ltd; a top 100 civil law practice with offices in Birmingham, Cardiff, Worcester, Reading, Cheltenham, Central London, Cambridge, Northampton, Ross-on-Wye and Hereford. I was their COFA from January 2013 until May 2014 and despite no longer being an employee, I continued to work with them over the following three years as a consultant on a self-employed basis.

I have been a member of the Institute of Legal Finance and Management since 2004 and am now an Associate member. In 2006, I was elected by the members to the Institute’s Executive Council, serving continually until 2017 . In that time I sat on both the Editorial Board (responsible for overseeing the production of the Institute’s bi-monthly magazine “Legal Abacus”) and the Strategy Committee (responsible for overseeing the decision-making of the Institute and ensuring the smooth running of the Institute’s day to day activities). In addition, I was also one of the presenters of the ILFM’s seminars on the COFA role and also wrote and presented their Credit Management for Law Firms workshop.

How can I help?

Everyone involved in running a business will know that there are many components that need to come together in order to make a business successful: vision, people, money, market and product/service to name but a few. The demands of bringing those components together is challenging and because it is often an element that doesn’t shout as loudly, you may feel that the  “money” aspects in your business are not performing as well as perhaps they could.

This is where I can help! I will give you my full support to protect your money, business assets and profitability and together we can make the policy, procedural and bookkeeping changes needed to see your business succeed and prosper.
